We are proud to announce that Dr. Dayan Rajapakse, Chairman and Managing Director of ESOFT Metro Campus, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS). The appointment was made at the Federation’s 8th Annual General Meeting held on 30th April 2025 at Hilton Colombo Residencies.

Dr. Rajapakse’s election marks a significant milestone as he becomes the first individual to have held both the prestigious positions of President of the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) and now Chairman of FITIS. His appointment is a recognition of his longstanding leadership and commitment to the advancement of Sri Lanka’s digital landscape.

Addressing the AGM, Dr. Rajapakse emphasized his vision of building a thriving digital ecosystem that drives innovation, supports business growth, and ensures every Sri Lankan can benefit from the digital economy. “Our mission is to build a thriving digital ecosystem where innovation flourishes, businesses grow, and every Sri Lankan has the opportunity to benefit from the digital economy,” he stated.

As an influential figure in both education and technology, Dr. Rajapakse brings to this role a wealth of experience. In addition to his leadership at ESOFT, he also serves as President of the Sri Lanka Association of Non-State Higher Education Institutes (SLANSHEI), further underlining his dedication to education and capacity building in the country.

During his tenure, Dr. Rajapakse aims to strengthen FITIS by expanding its membership base, reinforcing the secretariat, and enhancing collaboration with government bodies and regional industry partners. He is committed to supporting national digital economy goals, promoting public awareness, and advancing digital literacy to ensure a more inclusive transformation for all.
