A New Era of AI Education Begins in Sri Lanka

ESOFT, together with The AI Board (UK), has officially launched the AI Board Qualifications in Sri Lanka, opening new opportunities for students and professionals to build their knowledge and skills in Artificial Intelligence.

The launch was held at Waters Edge, Colombo, bringing together education leaders, academics and industry professionals for a breakfast meeting and panel discussion on “AI-Powered Governance & Economic Development.”

The discussion focused on the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in business, governance and economic development, while also looking at the importance of preparing people with the knowledge and skills needed for a rapidly changing digital world.

The panel brought together experts from education, technology and business, including:

The panelists shared their perspectives on how AI is changing the way organisations operate and why developing AI knowledge among the next generation is becoming increasingly important.

One of the key highlights of the launch is the clear progression pathway available to learners interested in building a career in Artificial Intelligence.

Students can begin with the Level 2 Award in Understanding AI, before progressing to the AI-Business and Applied AI tracks. From there, learners can continue their higher education journey through Kingston University degree programmes, with opportunities to progress towards an MSc in Artificial Intelligence.

This gives students the opportunity to start building their AI knowledge from an early stage and gradually progress towards higher-level qualifications.

As Artificial Intelligence continues to become part of everyday life, education has an important role to play in helping students understand and work with these technologies.

Through its collaboration with The AI Board, ESOFT is bringing a structured AI education pathway to Sri Lanka, giving learners the opportunity to develop relevant knowledge and explore new career possibilities in a growing field.

The launch marks an important step in ESOFT’s continued efforts to expand opportunities for students and keep education connected to the changing needs of the technology and business world.
