In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at shaping the future of Sri Lanka’s tech industry, ESOFT Metro Campus has awarded 1,500 scholarships to talented Year 10 and 11 students across the country. These scholarships, offered through a series of competitive exams held at ESOFT’s 40 branches and schools islandwide, provide students the opportunity to pursue a UK Level 3 Diploma in IT.

A Pathway to Success in IT

This scholarship program is more than just financial support; it’s a comprehensive pathway for students to excel in the field of Information Technology. Beginning with the UK Level 3 Diploma in IT, students can progress to Levels 4 and 5 Higher National Diplomas, ultimately completing a British degree, all before reaching the age of 20. By integrating this advanced curriculum into their regular school studies, students are not only gaining technical expertise but also aligning with the Government of Sri Lanka’s vision to cultivate a generation of confident, future-ready professionals.

Official Launch at BMICH

To mark the official launch of the scholarship program, 40 selected students were honored at a special ceremony held at the BMICH. The event was graced by (Hon) Dr. Susil Premajayantha, Minister of Education, who personally awarded the scholarships. Dr. Dayan Rajapakse, Chairman & Group MD of ESOFT Metro Campus, along with senior management and academics from ESOFT, also attended the ceremony, underlining the importance of this initiative.

A Second Chance for Aspiring IT Professionals

For students who missed the initial selection round, ESOFT Metro Campus has announced another opportunity. From now until September 30th, eligible Year 10 students from National, Provincial, and International schools can visit any ESOFT branch to sit for the computer-based selection test. Based on their performance, they can earn either full or half scholarships, paving the way for their future in IT.
