Academic knowledge opens doors, but confidence, communication and the ability to work with others often determine how far students progress. LEAD UP, a student-led Soft Skills and Capacity Development Programme at ESOFT Metro Campus, is designed to help Diploma students build those essential capabilities throughout their academic journey.
Organised by Higher National Diploma in Software Engineering students as part of their Professional Practice module, the full-day programme creates a bridge between classroom learning and the expectations of higher education and the workplace.
Through interactive workshops, presentations, team challenges and motivational sessions, participants will strengthen skills in communication, teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, time management, emotional intelligence and professional etiquette.
What makes LEAD UP distinctive is its peer-led approach. Senior HND Software Engineering students will share lessons from their academic progression, offering guidance from people who understand the challenges Diploma students face.
Participants will take part in real-world scenarios, group discussions and collaborative exercises that encourage involvement, self-awareness and confidence. The programme will also create opportunities to connect with peers and senior students, building relationships that support learning beyond the event itself.
LEAD UP reflects ESOFT Metro Campus’s commitment to developing well-rounded graduates who are technically capable, professionally prepared and ready to contribute in a competitive global environment.
For Diploma students ready to strengthen their mindset, expand their capabilities and take the next step with confidence, LEAD UP offers a place to begin.
